Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Nature helps us move outside our concerns about how we fit into society's mold.

Time spent immersed in Nature is an important spiritual practice because it helps us move outside the individual self with its incessant concerns about how to fit into society's mold. Instead, we begin to find ourselves grounded in a world that is much grander, vaster and more intriguing than we ever imagined.
