Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Trees all are our brothers and they enjoy life as we do.

"Trees all are our brothers and they enjoy life as we do, share Heaven's blessings with us, die and are buried in hallowed ground, come with us out of eternity and return to eternity."

The Contemplative John Muir

One of the things I love so much about Cedar Breaks is the 1700 year-old Bristlecone Pine trees that populate the landscape there. Highlighted against a backdrop of orange formations, they make for a stunning sight!
