"Without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect composure. But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it. Because we cannot accept the truth of transience, we suffer."

Photos: What a difference a year makes! The top photo shows Lake
Solitude, in Grand Teton National Park, as it appeared last Saturday,
July 4, 2015. (The yellow streaks in the water are accumulations of
conifer pollen). The bottom photo shows the same lake as it looked
exactly a year ago, on July 5, 2014. Last year, I had trouble finding a
spot for my tent that wasn't snow-covered. This year, the summer up
there is about a month ahead of schedule, as compared to normal. The
Tetons are right on the edge of the drought zone that is resulting in
the forest fires occurring all across the states and provinces northwest
of Colorado. What a difference a year makes!
