Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Color opens up the heart and melts it, allowing it to flow out into a world in need.

Intense color is not a thing that remains merely passive to our perception. Rather, it has a subjectivity all its own that GRASPS our attention and HOLDS US in its passionate grip.

Color is a HEAT that SEARS the heart, allowing us to melt in love. This liquid love then flows out naturally from our heart, emptying into a world in need.
