Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

I felt like I was part of the landscape!

On Friday, I was holding onto this branch of aspen leaves to make sure it was in the position where I wanted it. Then, just as I was ready to snap the shot, a fly landed on one of the leaves. It made me feel as though I was a part of the scene, blending in perfectly!
