Photo: Today I snowshoed the steep trail up to Lake Haiyaha
in Rocky Mountain National Park (CO). It was amazing to find large
chunks of bright blue ice heaved up onto the lake. I don't know of any
other of our Front Range alpine lakes with ice this blue! (March 17,
