Last week, I learned that many Apache mothers
traditionally bathed their babies in water saturated by wildflowers.
What a wonderful practice! I imagine this as an effective way for the
growing child to absorb the qualities of the natural world
and then to radiate those qualities to everyone he or she meets.
Similarly, whenever I hike through a wildflower meadow, I feel I am
bathing myself in a lake of spirituality. From the flowers, I absorb a
sense that my core self is attractive, radiant, fragrant, lively, and
tenacious. What qualities do you absorb from wildflowers?
