Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Finally! Out in the Wilds After a Week Spent Indoors, at the Computer

After a solid week spent indoors - at the computer - working on a Powerpoint slideshow (on the Great Outdoors - ha!), I finally got out into the wilds yesterday. The craggy rock formations, snowy landscapes and seemingly endless vistas up into Wyoming helped me regain a sense of the vastness of awareness in which both God and I are lost in a state of blissful awe, wonder and self-emptying. It is out of this expansive, seamless love that all of the various phenomena of life emerge, and I am so grateful to be a part of the process!
