Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

During this first winter work week after the holidays, let us remember that our radiance can shine all the brighter!

This particular day - Monday, the beginning of the first work week after the holiday season - can sometimes feel daunting. For those of us living in the north, it seems like a most intense inner and outer expression of the dead of winter. However, the contrasting radiance of the light - especially as it shines on all of that snow - is particularly vivid during this time.

We are hereby reminded that we've been graced with a fresh start, and that our vision and work shine the best when our environment seems the most bleak and lifeless. May all of us find the grace to pay attention to the increased radiance - within both ourselves and others - during the coming weeks:)
