Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Inner stillness is necessary for the crystallization of spiritual insights and intentions to occur.

When the process of crystallization has begun, the more still the environment, the larger the resulting crystals will be.

Similarly, if we want spiritual insights and intentions to crystallize within us, we need to practice stillness.

Fasting from some of the hectic, constantly shifting distractions of life in a media, entertainment and advertising-driven society is one way to do this. Spending quality time in Nature is another :)
