Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

The sound of the ocean is a constant reminder that meditative Spaciousness and the roar of divine Silence are the fundamental reality.

Hearing the sound of the ocean both day and night really does something to the psyche. It is a constant reminder that meditative Spaciousness and the roar of divine Silence are the fundamental reality, and that the phenomena of life - thoughts, emotions and events - all have their birth THERE!

The oceanic roar of the seacoast reminds us to detach ourselves from placing so much emphasis on these particular phenomena, enabling us to remain grounded and centered in Something much Larger and more fundamental!
