Welcome! I am a contemplative thinker and photographer from Colorado. In this blog, you'll discover photographs that I've taken on my hiking and backpacking trips, mostly in the American West. I've paired these with my favorite inspirational and philosophical quotes - literary passages that emphasize the innate spirituality of the natural world. I hope you enjoy them!

Wilderness Mysticism teaches us to seek for the INNER wilderness.

Wilderness Mysticism can find a home even in those who don't spend much time in the backcountry. For wilderness also refers to the wild, unexplored and endlessly fascinating spaces of the mind, heart and imagination. These are the places that cannot be manipulated by others, by the societal herd mentality, or by our own personal neuroses. It is in this interior wilderness of silence, solitude and creativity that the true self lies, and within it - the presence of both God and Goddess.
